 I hereby suggest a new sidebar for amaroK, containing playlists. The playlists in the Playlists sidebar would be contained within a ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/playlists folder

In fact, if you can speak with the Juk, Rhythmbox, WhatEver... teams and bother them until you agree on a common location[1] and format[2] to store the playlists, it would be only better.

This way, it will be only easier for people to switch from those crappy music players to Amarok ;-)

[1] For example in a folder $XDG_DATA_HOME/playlists

[2] m3u seems to be a good choice
