Summary: Error when moving large quantities of mail from local to
                    disconnected imap
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.6.82
          Platform: Slackware Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: dick kniep nl

Version: 1.6.82 (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.2.3
OS: Linux

I use KDE 3.2.3 on a Slackware 9.1 box with the daily snapshot of kdepim of
june 24th.

I noticed a strange phenomanon. I had a _local_ mailbox with some 2000 messages in it \
that I whished to be replaced by an _imap_ box. So I created a new mailbox on the \
server (Citadel) configured it in kmail, and selected all messages in the local \
mailbox and drag and dropped them to a newly created map in my new imap account. \
Several things happened:

- At first all entries appeared very quickly in the new mailbox, also copying the \
status of the messages (unread/read) as it should be. but then the server started \
                working....
- It took almost an hour before the server stopped doing a lot of
I-don't-know-what. Including removing all messages one at a time and
restoring them one at a time as unread.
- After the restoration of 150 messages the process stopped, and the rest of
the messages were apparently discarded.

After that I tried to move a few messages (4) at the same time. That worked
correctly albeit that they appear as unread in the new folder. So the problem occurs \
probably when some internal limit is exceeded.

If you want me to send more information about this, please explain how I should do \
that. _______________________________________________
