Summary: bad behavior of contact list view after
edit/create/delete contact
Product: kaddressbook
Version: 3.2.1
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: tokoe kde org
ReportedBy: h.goebel goebel-consult de
Version: 3.2.1 (using KDE 3.2.3, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.1 (Mandrakelinux (Cooker) 3.4.1-0.3mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.26-1mdk
Select an entry. The details are displayed in the "details aera". Now edit this entry \
(either by double-clicking or by pushing the "edit" icon in the toolbar).
When finishing the "contact edit" dialog (either okay or cancel), the prior selected \
entry get unselected while the details are still displayed.
This is confusing and unecpected behaviour. Correct way would be:
1) The prior selected entry should still be selected. Esp. since some "cursor" still \
knows this entry (pressing "Cursor Down" selects the next entry).
2) The position of the contact list within the contact view must not chance. \
Currently the list will move so the prior selected entry will be at the bottom of the \
display. (Except for contacts at the beginning of the list.)
3) When creating a new contact entry, this one should become selected and displayed \
in the list.
4) When deleting an entry, the contact following the deleted one should become \
selected and displayed in the list.
