This is the recommended way from freedesktop.org to store thumbnails

The more apps use this specification, the more benefits for the user (at least \
nautilus and konqueror use it).

On the other hand, I can imagine it cause problems for someone which has a _lot_ of \
pictures but not much space left on this /home partition

I have ~1200 pictures, and thumbnails take
$ find /autre/Photos -name "ThumbNails" | xargs du -h --total
[...]
35M     total

If a professional has 100 000 pictures, this won't be very nice.
In fact, a bigger problem is that this directory with ~100 000 files will slow down \
your computer a lot with most existing filesystems, and that for many common \
application.
