In the configure dialog, you may be able to choose an encoding for the pilot (that selection would be on \
the general or device page, where you select /dev/pilot or /dev/... as the pilot device). Pick what is \
relevant to you there - probably ISO 8859-1 (Western Europe). If there is no selector, you can add the \
line
Encoding=Western European ( iso 8859-15 )
to the [General] section of the kpilotrc configuration file. In more recent versions of KPilot, there is \
always a selector for choosing the encoding.
