Well - the fact that evolution 1.2 didn't enforce the standards (and the client and \
server happened to use same characterset) is was made it work for me (using 8859-1 - \
using danish special characters æøå ).

If you are right about the standards - then the problem it would seem - is that \
courier-imap does not convert from UTF8 to local charset or something. IMHO best \
solution, would be a flexible client, that allowed the user to choose the charset to \
encode in, to the server - and default to UTF8. Then default would be standards \
compatible.
