I have played with this code, and believe the view manager code could be simplified a \
bit by not switching between tab-container and direct-view, but always keeping a \
tab-container and just hide()ing the tabbar and new-tab/close-tab icons if there is \
only 1 tab open.
This requires one extra method to KonqFrameTabs which calls tabbar()->hide() and \
->show().
I made a dirty implementation of this to test and visually it seems to work very \
well. I can try to make a "proper" patch if would be considered, although people more \
familiar with the konqueror viewmgr code would be much faster at it :)
Would a widget stack be faster at switching between viewports than a tab widget?
