This bug is best explained by demonstrating how to reproduce it:

1. Run Kate, making sure no documents are automatically opened from the previous session.

2. Open a document using File | Open.

3. Once the document is open, open another document using File | Open.

4. HERE'S THE BUG: The file browser does not display files, only directories.

5. If I hit "Cancel," then go to File | Open again, the files become visible again.

This is always reproducible. The Kate "help" dialog says this: "Kate 2.2 (Using KDE 3.2.0-0.1 Red Hat)". Please let me know what information I can provide to help fix this.
