I've now reproduced (and refined a little) the behavior I posted in comment #70.

All it took was a bunch of Ctl-C's on different words, lines or groups of lines (I \
had a document open in KDevelop), then go back to Konqueror and click on a folder and \
move the mouse horizontally off the folder icon (I used the /usr/src folder for \
consistency).  The bug was cleared by simply launching and closing Klipper (didn't \
have to clear clipboard history).

I restarted Linux and tried it again, this time performing the Ctl-C's on a document \
in KEdit - same results.
