I am using mplayer from cvs (MPlayer dev-CVS-031006-10:51-3.3.2 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team)
With KDE-3.2 the full screen mode for some movies has became broken, especially for those where the movie is wider rather than higher. Only the top half of a movie is shown. I did not have problems with earlier versions of KDE-3.1. Also mplayer stable seems to still work fine.

I have found a work-around: If I set mplayer -nokeepaspect, then the full screen mode works fine. I am not sure if this is a bug in kwin or in mplayer, but it should be fixed somewhere I guess.
