The reason is because instances are saved in ~/.lpoptions as / (this follows the CUPS way of doing). Space is also forbidden. What you want to achieve (use slashes to fake multi-level hierarchy in the print dialog) is not possible. Note that this behavior is determined by CUPS: the point is that the instances created by KDEPrint should be usable outside KDE apps. Michael.
