There are several misunderstandings here:
- wv2 is a library that opens MS Word documents. It doesn't know how to handle Excel \
                or Powerpoint documents.
- Gentoo's wv2 package seems to have the "description" field of the original wv \
package. That's a bit too optimistic, maybe you can inform the Gentoo people about \
                that one.
- The Excel filter KSpread uses is able to import most of the Excel files I've tried, \
but I'm not an Excel poweruser, so my testcases might have been to simple. If you \
find an Excel file you can't open, please submit a bug report to the category \
kspread/filters with a short description and -- if possible -- also attach the file \
                you tried to open.
- The Powerpoint filter is indeed very very limited, as we lack developers and no one \
improves this one right now.

In any case: please split your bug reports (one report for one bug), then it's easier \
for us to handle them.
