Summary: configure script uses awk rather than $AWK, which it
                    sets to gawk
           Product: quanta
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Solaris
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: amantia@freemail.hu
        ReportedBy: stevee@zuken.co.uk

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.94)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 3.2.3
OS: Solaris

Under Solaris the supplied version of awk only offers a sub-set of the functionality \
of gawk (or nawk). Therefore awk is insufficient for the awk usage in the configure \
script.

The configure script attempts to cope with this by setting $AWK to the best available \
awk. Unfortunately it then ignores this variable and uses awk directly, which doesn't \
work:

checking for libxml libraries >= ... awk: syntax error near line 2
awk: illegal statement near line 2
found
