I think that your real problem is that you are still using 1.5.1. That 
certainly isn't a "current version". See below for detail.

When you configure your receiving account (Settings->Configure KMail, Network, 
Receiving) there is a checkbox that says "Delete mail from server after 
fetching". If you turn that off, it will be kept.

I believe it is possible to delete on server when locally deleted, but I can't 
find the setting. There are many tools that can delete based on time - 
fetchmail might be useful, and you can run it as a cron job. I don't think 
that kmail can do that though.

This you can do the first using Settings->Configure POP filters..
The second is possibly a valid wishlist item.

Suggest that you close this wishlist item, and write a new wishlist that 
discusses the manipulation of messages on the POP server in detail. I'm not 
sure how much interest there will be though - the focus for KMail seems to be 
moving to IMAP.
