Wow, great example.  Except that I can't get mplayer to stay full-screen no 
matter what.  If I type in 'mplayer *' in a directory full of only 
movies...every movie still appears in a little window.  Maybe I need to store 
window settings first then go fullscreen.  I shall have to fiddle :).
