It's still early in the morning and I didn't sleep a lot, so I'll refrain from commenting 
on "abysmal" 
 
I compiled the current wv Version AbiWord uses (that's the most recent one) and 
invoked the wvPDF script. On opening the .pdf file in KWord I only see plain text 
and the embedded images. Some text is missing (e.g. the table of contents), the 
formatting is non-existant. 
 
When using wv2 (current CVS, but 0.1.8 should be fine, too) I can see the text, 
nicely formatted, even the styles are there. The only two problems I can see are 
missing images and drawings (wv2 doesn't support that yet, but that's the next item 
on my TODO) and a number of KWord rendering errors. 
 
The KWord rendering errors are out of my scope, I'll show them to David, maybe he 
can fix them.
