           Summary: Filter statistics for kmail
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: filtering
        AssignedTo: kmail@kde.org
        ReportedBy: louis_rush@hotmail.com

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: GCC 3.2.2
OS: Linux

The ability to see diagnostic information about filters can be helpful for \
troubleshooting long/complicated filtering lists or finding out why a message was or \
was not filtered.

Currently you can add an X-Header to find out what filters had filtered an individual \
message. However, this does not provide enough information about the filters \
themselves.

Personally I would like to see:
   When a filter was created
When a filter was last sucesfully used (old filters can be removed if they are no \
longer relevant) How many times a filter has generated a hit.

This would enable the user to see what filters are and are not working for them, and \
enable them to decide when/if changes to their current filtering processing are \
needed.
