I'm using double click on Linux all the time with Mozilla, Mozilla has configs
to control this:

Middle mouse prefs: true by default on Unix, false on other platforms. 

user_pref("middlemouse.paste", false); 
user_pref("middlemouse.contentLoadURL", false);
user_pref("middlemouse.scrollbarPosition", false);
