I can confirm this bug! If one attempts to move an item with kmenuedit that has no icon specified, 
kmenuedit crashes. This is very annoying!  
The Debian distribution I'm using sometimes installs programs without placing an icon and 
therefore, kmenuedit has crashed on me already many times when attempting to move an item from 
one category to another. I only realized why it crashed when I came accros this bug report. 
I would therefore be glad if somebody could re-open and fix this bug.
