Hi Bruce:

thank you for the detailed information. ;) It seems the mathematical fonts
kformula is looking for are not installed on your system. Kformula needs
either a font called "symbol" or (preferred) the esstix fonts. If you want to
really use kformula you'd want to have the esstix ones. You might find them
at ftp://ftp.elsevier.nl/pub/styles/esstix/esstix.zip.

The files in /usr/share/app/kformula are not those fonts but rather mapping
tables that are needed to match these fonts' characters to unicode values. So
kformula finding these files without the fonts installed doesn't help very
much.

These are good news. ;) Please tell me if installing the esstix fonts doesn't
solve your problem. Any other help is also highly appreciated. If you want to
help developing kformula you are very welcome.

Greetings,
Uli
