KPilot does not work if you upgrade pilot-link out from under it. In 
particular,
KPilot reports the version number it was compiled against, and if you
upgrade pilot-link you will need to recompile KPilot. This is because
pilot-link doesn't keep binary compatibility between major versions
(or at least, between 0.9.x and later).
