on the identies tab in the configuration if I set the "Your Name:" field to 
james.d@earthlink.net and also the "Email Address:" field to the same get that error 
message when I try to send a message. 
 
only with Earthlinks (exim) mailserver.. my own mailserver (qmail) dosent have that 
prolbem.
