In recent CVS everything works fine (using autoconf-2.52, automake-1.4p5 and  
libtool 1.4.1). Make sure, you have a clean checkout. You can do that e.g. by  
calling   
   make -f admin/Makefile.common cvs-clean  
in kdeedu's rootdir and then restart the compilation with 
   make -f Makefile.cvs  
etc.
