OS/Compiler notes: 

Kicker is veeeery sluggish in switching desktops and applications.
I toggled OFF any animation feature and the QuickBrowser feature.

I have an Athlon 700Mhz with 770Mb RAM, high quality Matrox Marvel G400 video card.
I am using light style, 3th revision.
I am using NO translucency.

The strange point is that when I call the KDE control center and change&save some \
configuration, the kicker seems to be very responsive. After a while it becomes again \
veeery sluggish, nearly to unusable...
