I currently am running KMail compiled with gcc-3.2 and it works fine. However
not KMail 1.4.3 but the latest CVS version.

If the problem depends on the version of the compiler it can't be really a bug
in the application.
Did you really start with a clean source directory before compiling with the
new compiler?
Maybe one the the flags you are using like "-fexpensive-optimizations" in gcc
has a bug, I really don't know.
