Package: kspread
Version: 1.2 RC1 (using KDE 3.0.7 1 beta1))
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi!
all cells have "number" as default format
entering text does not alter the cell format - it stays "number".

opening a excel
the following formula is not recognized
=L$5*$C11
and an error messages is issued
="#### REFERENCE TO COLUMN OR ROW IS OUT OF RANGE"
_and_ the cell format is changed to "text"
Entering the above formula manualy into the cell produces the correct value, but the \
cell format remains "text" cells referencing this cell report "Parse Error"

After changing the format from text to number, still parse error

remark 1)
formulas in cells formated as "text" can't be referenced (at least in mathematical \
formulas)

remark 2)
changing the format from text to number and vice versa the cell content is not \
left/rigth adjusted automaticaly. "Edit cell" does it and should be done \
automaticaly.

remark 3)
IMHO entering a (mathematical ?) formula (=...) should automagicaly switch the \
cellformat from "text" to "number" (or percent ...) to avoid problems of this kind.

remark 4)
even after reworking the formulas and cell formats, dependent cells show "Parse \
error", the result cell must be edited too , to get the correct results.
