Subject: Bug#46493: toolbar properties are messed up when splitting a view

Package: kspread
Version: 1.2 beta2 (using KDE 3.0.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
Hi,
when playing around with different orientations, icon sizes and text positions for \
the kspread toolbars, i found, that these selected values are messed up, when i click \
view->split view.
a simple test case for this is the following:
start up a new kspread instance, right click on the
edit toolbar, select text position -> text under icons, select view -> split view.
now the toolbar forgot to show the text, it is not displayed somewhere behind the \
main window, simply the setting is forgotten. i even got more strange results, but \
was not able to reproduce them, like not shown toolbars, which did not show the \
button with the two lines in it directly under the menubar, but they painted \
themselves in active state in a rectangle of the height of the button they should \
display, they also forgot their icon sizes and stuff like that. it seems that through \
the action of splitting the view makes the toolbars forget all their settings and \
default them to the ones they had, when the instance was loaded. so when i changed \
the icon size of a toolbar and closed the window and opened it again, it was shown \
with the changed icon sizes, as expected. then changing something and doing split \
view defaulted the settings to the settings of the beginning of this window, and not \
to the fully unchanged settings.
(well, not explained that good, i think...)
i just checked this in kword, the same bug is there too. well, i have no idea, if it \
is a bug in koffice, kde or qt...
my qt version is 3.0.4.20020606-r1 from the gentoo sources.
hope this helps, Holger
