Hi,

Sorry you're having problems with KStars.

This is the correct place to report bugs, don't bother reporting it to
Mandrake, since it isn't really a packaging problem. The bug you've reported
is almost certainly an "uninitialized pointer" bug that we didn't notice
until after KDE3.0 shipped. Unfortunately, this bug only seems to cause
problems on a small fraction of machines. I thought at first it was Suse
only, but I've heard from several Mandrake users as well.

Since you say you got KStars as part of the Mandrake distribution for KDE, I'm
assuming you installed the precompiled binary RPM version. In that case,
your best bet for fixing the bug is to upgrade to our latest release version,
which you can get from our website: http://edu.kde.org/kstars .

There isn't an RPM version available yet, so you'll have to compile it
yourself (which isn't that hard, so don't let that discourage you! besides
if you have problems, you can always email kstars@30doradus.org for help)

good luck, and please let me know if you upgrade and still have problems.
Jason
