Subject: Bug#41987: Copy-paste functionality - Windows-compatible option Good
From: henrik () fangorn ! dk

[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kdesktop
Version: KDE 3.0.0
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not really important, it's the intended functionality I'm looking at.
The default Copy & Paste functionality (also in X, I suppose) copies merely by marking text, no Ctrl-C \
needed. In many professional contexts that is not a very handy functionality - personally I do much \
language versioning of programs, and replacing a string with another language is just much handier under \
Windows. The recent BundesTux initiative also highlighted this issue.
I suggest that the Windows-compatible behaviour be made a configuration option. Should be easy to code \
and good for lots of plain users.
