Subject: Bug#39902: smart quoting recognizes signature mark wrong

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 3.0.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

The signature of a mail is normally divided from the rest of the mail by a "-- " i.e. \
two dashes and a space in one line. When replying to a mail that contains two dashes \
in one line, i.e. just "--", kmail cuts off everything below that (when smart quoting \
is turned on), which I've been told not to be correct behaviour (there's some \
standard on this, but I don't know the document). KMail should only check for "-- ", \
which is what KMail also uses itself for appending signatures.

(The person telling me about this standard is a standards-fetiscist, so I do believe \
he is right here, even though I don't have an RFC or something ...)
