Subject: Bug#37583: kded eats up CPU cycles

Package: kded
Version: KDE 2.2.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Linux 2.4.17
On longer sessions (~12h), kded starts to eat up CPU time like hell. Since it is not \
related to HD activity, I don't think it is related to bug #30669. Since kded runs as \
root, this is a big problem on a multiuser environment. I killed kded since it uses \
all my CPU time via # kill -KILL <pid>
Afterwards, a
# kded --help
resulted in:
FATAL: DCOP communication problem!
Are there any signals kded is supposed to react on? The only thing stopping CPU \
comsumption is to $ kill -KILL <pid>
At least for debugging purpose it would be a good idea that kded reacts on -HUP.
And PLS don't gimme that "fixed in kde3" reply unless there is a kde3 release ;)
