Hi Daniel.

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one having this problem. In my 
experience, reducing the sampling rate to 8000 doesn't solve the problem 
completely. Could you please play an MP3/OGG file and compare the second 
counter with another clock (you should wait a minute or so). 

I would also like to mention that I do not consider downsampling the audio 
stream to be a satisfactory solution.

Btw, I have the Yamaha chip on a VAIO and as a PCI card in my desktop and I 
tested with various standard and AC kernels (up to and including 2.4.13).
