Sorry, I can't believe this. At least I have absolutely no explanation, how 
KMail can loose mail in this case. If KMail exits, then it can't delete the 
mails on the server, besides the fact, that KMail shouldn't delete mails at 
all it has not stored successfully on the hard disc.

You don't possibly use a local POP3 server which also couln't append any mails 
due to lack of disk space?
