Something must have been quite busted with font metrics in Qt2/KOffice-1.1.

But the test document leads to a correct preview for me, with the current CVS code
(which includes the WYSIWYG rewrite of KWord, and uses Qt3's QFont implementation,
so the code is quite different)...

So either this is fixed (by Qt3 or KWord-WYSIWYG), or it depends on something
that is different for you and me (the font, the use of libXft or not, the DPI settings, 
the charset(*).... who knows .....)
#34241 suggests it might be related to the charset.
But #33440 suggests it might be related to a change in Qt2 (between 2.3.0 and 2.3.1),
or to anything else that differs between Mandrake 8.0 and Mandrake 8.1.

On one hand, so much has changed in Qt & KWord that I'd be tempted to
conclude it's fixed in CVS, but OTOH I vaguely remember similar reports that
I couldn't reproduce either, before the 1.1 release (so there could be something
that happens on other systems than mine, and that still isn't fixed).

If you could test the CVS code it would really help knowing in which case
we are.... (http://www.kde.org/anoncvs.html - much compiling to be done
if you go for that, since you need Qt 3.0, kdelibs-CVS and koffice-CVS).

Sorry that I do not have more information. I can't fix a bug that I can't reproduce,
and I don't feel like spending much more time with Qt2 & KOffice-1.1 stuff,
given the big changed in Qt3 and KOffice-CVS
But releasing a fixed KOffice-1.1.1 would be a good thing, undoubtedly...
