HI!
IMHO the "Open with.." dialog (RMB in many apps) should not only show the list of \
known applications, but also the list of applications which are defined in the file-  \
associations in kcontrol -  because:

* it usualy makes sens to us an application which is able to open 
the file. only experts will used special apps like hexedit to open a graphics file.

* the novice user will not know which application can open the selected file.

As the number of application, which can open an specific mime type, is growing, this \
feature will become more important. cu
