Package: kmail
Version: 1.3.1 (using KDE 2.2.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.4-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

Using Kmail 1.3.1 supplied with KDE2.2.1 the SMTP implementation seems to be broken. \
I suppose that it is worth noting that this never happened with KDE2.2.0

The problem: when sending mail, 90% of the time it sits forever with the "sending \
$MESSAGE" message box, and never does anything else. If I close that box, it says \
Sending Failed: blah blah blah, the following protocol was used \
smtp://my.mail.server:25.

The POP3 works fine; I can receive mail, I just cannot send it.
