That looks more like a window manager or X-server bug then.

Are you using the KDE desktop or a different window manager?
What widget style are you using?
Does that possible not happen with a different one?
Does switching to a text console with Ctrl-Alt-F1 or killing the X-session 
with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace still work?
