Can I expect a working perl? I tend to say yes if it is easier to program in this case. At least on Linux you can expect it IMO .... hmm .... Well, it *is* possible that perl is not installed, esp. on a low-level-user only machine (in contrast to a developer's machine wich has probably all the development tools). --Stefan
