Of course you don't need to reinvent the wheel :) And I hope you understand my 
reactions and don't get angry with me. I really hope so.

You know, and I wrote about it earlier, that we don't need troubles with other 
private persons or companies which may be authors/owners of some artwork. 
Artwork can be licenced. Although some icons are freely downloadable from 
MacOSX and Windows icon-sites in the most cases they can't be freely 
redistributed, changed or used in other projects without permission.

You also know that it was me that reacted when you released your iKons for the 
first time. I reacted because devices icons were taken from MS WindowsXP.
Many people wanted your icon-theme to become a default icon-theme for KDE, and 
your iKons were/are extremely popular.

I, personally, have always liked your folder icon, but not the rest of the 
theme. Reasons: devices icons were two dark and fuzzy, and mimetypes were 
simply not good enough. I also think that your actions icons are excellent.

Now I like your new device icon very, very much (I wrote about it: very nice & 
lighter grey palette you used), but IMHO you have to decide:
1. do you want to keep the main design which is mainly from MacOSX devices
2. do you want to combine it with everaldos elements (then 'crystalize' you 
devices icon and give them a look & feel which matches 'crystal' elements)

I hope that you don't have bad feelings about these things I wrote about. If 
it looked unpleasant and harsh I apologize, I am impulsive person by nature, 
and I speak three languages at home, so english is not my first language and 
my words can sound totally different in your ears.

And finally, as I wrote a few months ago, we need to cooperate more than we do 
right now.

My next email will be in that direction. As you all now (and tackat wrote 
about it) we need a new design for application icons. OK lets start: can you 
Kristof and you Everaldo come with some ideas about the new Konqueror 
application icon? I will propose a new design in my next email, and lets do 
it together. All of us. Lets start with Konqueror, and then next application 
icon and then next one etc.
