From kde-announce Fri Apr 07 01:36:53 2000 From: Christian Gebauer Date: Fri, 07 Apr 2000 01:36:53 +0000 To: kde-announce Subject: Announce: Kdict 0.3 X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-announce&m=95512309830421 Hello, I've released Kdict 0.3 today. Download: http://www.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~gebauerc/kdict/kdict-0.3.tar.gz Homepage: http://www.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~gebauerc/kdict/ It will be available from ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/unstable/apps/utils/ in the near future. Description: Kdict is a graphical client for the DICT protocol. It enables you to search through dictionary-like databases for a word or phrase, then displays suitable definitions. Kdict features an integrated implementation of the DICT protocol that has support for all protocol features except Unicode, a separate list of matching words for advanced queries, configurable database sets, a browser-like user interface, convenient interaction with the X-clipboard, configurable html-output and printing. Kdict requires Qt 1.4x and KDE libraries version 1.1x Changes: + integrated implementation of the DICT-protocol, dict(1) is no longer needed. + match mode: At first all matches for a query are displayed in a separate list, the user can then choose the most interesting definitions. + database sets: The user can create individual compilations of the available databases and use them in the same way as a single database. + nicer/more configurable html-layout + speed improvements + various gui improvements (You can find a full changelog on the homepage.)
