Description:
 A KDE frontend for xmame emulator. Based on (and
fully compatible with) gxmame plus some additional
features:

- Customizable game icon size and toolbar.
- Auto-rescale screenshots. Added video previews.
- Improved gamelist search, categorization.
- Works with latest xmame version.
- Fast, responsive compared to gxmame.
- Supports xmess (see the 3rd screenshot).
Requires kxmame version >= 1.90

Usage:

Download "catver.ini" (or "catver") from
http://catver.com to help kxmame categorize mame
roms. (Or from http://www.progettoemma.net/ if you
prefer the Italian version).
Use menu Settings->Directories to tell kxmame
where to look for ROMS, snapshots, preview videos,
xmame executables, catver.ini ....
Use menu Settings->"Configure kxmame" to specify
xmame options.
You can use the your joystick or gamepad to browse
the gamelist. Up, down, left right to go up and
down the list, button 1 to show or hide the clones
of selected game, button 0 or 2 to play games.

 1.90:

This is a preview release of kxmame 2.x which
supports xmess (see the 3rd screenshot). Simply
add an xmess executable to the list of executables
in menu Settings->Directories->"kxmame
directories", specifying xmess bios path and you
are ready to go. You can switch back and forth
between xmame and xmess using the left most
toolbar button. Final kxmame 2.x probably will
have more functionalities, but kxmame 1.90 should 
satify basic xmess need.


1.2:

Use kaffeine kparts (dynamically loaded) instead
of xine for video previews. As a result, users
don't need libxine-devel or kaffeine installed
when compiling kxmame.

Fix a few small bugs due to the introduction of
video
previews in 1.2-rc.


1.2-rc:

Add game video previews using xine library. Can be
disable at compile time by "./configure
--disable-video".
Add scrollbars when snapshot is bigger than the
allowed space.
Improved search toolbar (Marco Martin). Can be
hidden or shown using Ctrl+F.
Marginally better documentations.
Updated Italian and Polish translation (Vincenzo
Reale, Julian Sikorski).
Fix many [K,G]xmame bugs in gamelist, icons,
compilations, snapshots,.... You are advised to
rebuilt your gamelist after update.
