The latest development release of Rekall (version 2.3.3) and the first
development release of RekallWeb (version 0.1) is now available from:

http://www.rekallrevealed.org/

About Rekall
-----------------
Rekall is a database front end in the sense of MS Access (or KNoda or
Kexi). Rekall includes:

* Drivers for MySQL and PostgreSQL
* Driver XBase (DB4) files (via the XBSQL wrapper library)
* Read-only driver for DBTCP (http://www.fastflow.it/dbtcp/)
* Table design and data access
* Graphic form, reports and query design and execution
* Creation of reusable components for use in forms and reports
* Database import/export via a generalised "copier"
* Fully scriptable using Python with built-in debugger
* Ability to construct reusable components for forms and reports
* Basic database dumping and loading
* Stock database loading, including loading from web servers

About RekallWeb
-----------------------
RekallWeb is a set of CGI scripts, implemented in Python, which allow you to
access your Rekall database via a web browser. Please note that this is very
much in-development, but the website www.rekallrevealed.org is now driven by
RekallWeb. The database behind this (or rather, a recent dump) can be
downloaded and installed using Rekall's stock database facility. See how the
magic works!

Rekall 2.3.3
---------------
This is the latest development release. Below is a summary of the changes
compared to the 2.2.x releases:

* Supports "dynamic" form layouts (where the layout changes as the window is
resized, like dialog boxes).

* Toolboxes (can be turned off to behave like 2.2.x)

* Control wizards (can be turned off to behave like 2.2.x)

* Simplified scripting for common cases (eg., field.value = 'Mike')

* Documentation browser (like a stripped down Qt Assistant)

* Stock databases: load a predefined database. Can also load from a web
server.

Autotools hell now completely obliterated, uses scons (www.scons.org) as its
build system. Yes! Yes! Yes! Lets bury autotools for good!

2.3.3 builds as both KDE and QT3-only versions, requires QT3.3 (FC2/3,
SuSE91/92, Mdk100/101......).

Regards
Mike
