Rekall version 2.2.3 (the latest stable release) and version 2.3.2
(development) are now available from:

http://www.rekallrevealed.org/

Rekall is a database front end in the sense that MS Access is (or KNoda or
Kexi). Rekall includes:

* GPL'd rivers for MySQL, PostgreSQL and for XBase (DB4) files (via the XBSQL
wrapper library).
* Read-only driver for DBTCP (http://www.fastflow.it/dbtcp/)
* Table design and data access
* Graphic form, reports and query design and execution
* Database import/export via a generalised "copier"
* Fully scriptable using Python with built-in debugger
* Ability to construct reusable components for forms and reports
* Basic database dumping and loading

Rekall 2.2.3
---------------
This is mostly a maintenance release with a few odd things added as requested
by users. The biggest change is that the build files have been brought up to
date. The download tarball rekall-2.2.3-2.tar.gz replaces the version which
appeared on the site a few days ago, which was a real mess (thanks to Peter
Eisentraut for pointing this out) but the actual code is unchanged.

This version has been built on RH90, FC2/3, MDK100, SuSE90/91 (and SLES9) and
Debian Sarge. I guess SuSE92 and MDK101 should be OK, plus any recent
Debian-based distro.

Rekall 2.3.2
---------------
This is the latest development release. Below is a summary of the changes
compared to the 2.2.x releases:

* Supports "dynamic" form layouts (where the layout changes as the window is
resized, like dialog boxes).

* Toolboxes (can be turned off to behave like 2.2.x)

* Control wizards (can be turned off to behave like 2.2.x)

* Simplified scripting for common cases (eg., field.value = 'Mike' rather than
field.setValue(0,'Mike'))

* Documentation browser (like a stripped down Qt Assistant) ... but the manual
needs updating for some of the above!

Autotools hell now completely obliterated, uses scons (www.scons.org) as its
build system.

2.3.2 builds as both KDE and QT3-only versions, requires QT3.3 (FC2/3,
SuSE91/92, Mdk100/101......).

Regards
Mike
