From kde-announce Fri Aug 13 14:14:35 2004 From: Mike Richardson Date: Fri, 13 Aug 2004 14:14:35 +0000 To: kde-announce Subject: [kde-announce] Rekall 2.3.1: Latest development code and WebAccess Message-Id: <200408131605.25742.mike () quaking ! demon ! co ! uk> X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-announce&m=109240647520796 Release 2.3.1 of Rekall, the database front end for KDE (and QT) is now available, see: http://www.rekallrevealed.org/toplevel/getting/rekall231.shtml This is a development version. Following the example of those wiser than myself, the 2.3.x releases will be development code (2.2.x and, sometime, 2.4.x, will be stable releases). There are a couple of build changes. Firstly, I have finally had it with AutoTools hell, and have moved to Scons (http://www.scons.org) as the build system. Secondly, this release does not have an embedded copy of SIP, you will to install for your distribution. Oh, and Rekall 2.3.1 needs QT3.1.x and preferably 3.2.x. Plus, this release should build QT-only as well as for KDE. Now the big change:)) Rekall 2.3.1 starts to provide support for designing and running inside Rekall (using a combination of Python and JavaScript scripting), and then running the via a web browser (where the JavaScript runs in the browser and the Python on the server, with near-seamless transition between the two). See http://www.rekallrevealed.org/toplevel/webaccess.shtml This is under active development at the moment (so don't expect to use this for real applications for a while yet), but the page above has a link to a simple demonstration page. -- Regards Mike http://www.rekallrevealed.org *THE* GPL/Open Source database front end for Linux and Windows. _______________________________________________ kde-announce mailing list kde-announce@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-announce
