From kde-announce Mon Nov 17 16:30:50 2003 From: Mike Richardson Date: Mon, 17 Nov 2003 16:30:50 +0000 To: kde-announce Subject: [kde-announce] Rekall released under GPL/Dual licence X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-announce&m=106908662627085 theKompany and the devopers of Rekall, their RAD DBMS tool, have today released the code under a dual license. ReKall had previously been available for both Windows and Linux with a proprietary, closed-source license. It provides "Access-like" capabilities for Linux users to maintain, query, and report information stored in an RDMS. Rekall does not provide the DBMS, just the front-end required to maintain and report on it. It currently supports xBase, MySQL, and PostgreSQL "out of the box." Commercial plug-ins are available for Rekall to add DB2, ODBC, and (soon) Oracle access as well. As of the beta 2.2 version of Rekall, which is released today, the product will be available under the GPL as well as under terms of a proprietary license. Support and source code for the free software version will be available at a new community portal www.rekallrevealed.org Regards Mike Richardson -- The box said "Install Windows 98 or better". So I installed Linux. mike@quaking.demon.co.uk http://www.quaking.demon.co.uk, http://www.thekompany.com _______________________________________________ kde-announce mailing list kde-announce@mail.kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-announce
