this requires that someone writes a Gtk+ IM plugin for plasmaboard. there's 
one in Vala that ships with caribou[1] which is easily adapted save one thing: 
i can't figure out how to compile the vala code (such a PITA). finding other 
gtk+ im plugins or documentation is ... bizarrely hard to do.
