Some of the icons are based on the KDE color icons. I can imagine GNOME will 
want to change the look of them. On the other hand they might like to use 
some of the work already done. It is a possibility to say: use whatever you 
like, then we will do that to. That way we both will have a bw set the 
sooner. It just takes making the icons available. The other possibility is to 
strive to one mutual set. Option one seems more practical.

That is a good idea.

In an earlier distro I ran (RH 5.2, Mandrake 6.1?) there were black and white 
icons, from an other desktop. May be usable to.
