I would like to propose that three people volunteer to give
presentations on:

1) Making GTK+ applications accessible (using libatk)
2) Making Qt applications accessible
3) ATs on Linux (GOK, Dasher, Gnopernicus, Orca, LSR)

Subject: Desktop Developers' Conference: Call For Papers
Date: Thu, 23 Mar 2006 11:50:51 -0600 (CST)
We are pleased to announce the Call For Papers for the 2006 Desktop
Developers' Conference (DDC).

The conference will take place on July 17th & 18th, 2006 at the Ottawa
Congress Centre, in Ottawa, Canada and is targetted at those developers
who are contributing to the development of desktop distributions,
application and ISV development, application integration, and operating
system infrastructure intended to improve the desktop user experience.

You can submit a proposal, and/or register as an attendee at
https://www.desktopcon.org/2006/login.php. Submissions will be accepted
until Saturday, April 15th, 2006. Details about the CFP and information
on submission requirements are available online at
http://www.desktopcon.org/2006/cfp.php.

The agenda for this year will not only include informative presentations,
but the last day will involve some informal round table discussions
amongst the attendees to discuss topics that are imperative to the
continued progress of the Linux desktop. The list of topics will be
determined by the review committee,

Waldo Bastian, Intel
John Cherry, OSDL
Tom Hanrahan, OSDL
Andrew Hutton, Steamballoon
Bart Massey, Portland State University
Keith Packard, Intel
Ian Romanick, IBM
Craig Ross, Linux Symposium
Jeff Waugh, Ubuntu
Jeremy White, Codeweavers

and will be based on the proposals received as well as feedback from
members of the desktop developer community. We feel it is important for
DDC to not only be informative and educational, but also a forum for
desktop developers to voice their concerns and suggestions.

We strongly urge you to submit proposals and to contact us with any
suggestions that you may have to make the event more successful and
appealing to the desktop developer community.

We look forward to seeing you all in July!
