I think having a KDE solution that does not work with Gnome programs 
started under KDE, or vice versa, is a much bigger problem then depending 
on Gnome software for specific tasks.

Implementing a KDE solution without bridging code means having two 
incompatible concepts. That would mean that KDE apps are impossible to be 
used by some handicapped Gnome users, and vice versa.

Making KDE apps usable by handicapped people somehow should have priority, 
and that can be easiest reached by having bridging code.

That having said, that does not mean that we have to implement the 
bridging code ourselves. Once our katk is in place, someone might pick up 
our approach and help us.

Well, anyway, the direction to go for now should be clear...
