Hi

I've tried GCC 2.95.3 and had problems... Notably, Imake doesn't seem to
work properly compiling X windows 4.xx

I went bak to EGCS 1.1.2 and it works fine.

I also compiled KDE 2.1.1 from source and had a couple of problems but this
was just due to the order in which I compiled the various parts. I am
running 2.1.1 as I write this using X 4.03 with Matrox MGA400 max on a dual
head dispay using a Linux 2.4 SMP kernel running on dual P3s. Everything
compiled from source.

By the way ... If your into you can use GDB on the core dump to find out
exactly where a progam failed. Provided of course the program was compiled
with debug symbols and you have the source. It's been a while so I don't
remember the command exactly but it goes something like "gdb core
/path/to/source"
